Donna Deerin Ward

is a daughter, wife, sister, mother, 200-hour RYT yoga instructor, Level 4 AntiGravity® Fitness Instructor, artist, leadership coach and successful businesswoman. Through retreats, wellness workshops and leadership coaching, Donna brings all her skills together in one place to share what she’s learned with other women.

Q: How did the idea for the retreats come about?

A: The idea for our first retreat came from many years of traveling with my best friend Barb Riley (200-hour RYT yoga instructor and Level 4 AntiGravity® Fitness Instructor) to other retreat locations, painting with my mentor Brenda Wintermyer and my desire to help women navigate life’s changes.

My children had graduated from college and graduate school; they were planning their futures, and I began a journey of self-discovery. I found that I was not alone on this transformational trip and decided to create a retreat where women could connect with other women, share their stories, open their hearts and find their Art. This was the beginning of the Art of Living.

Q: What are some of the unique aspects of the retreats offered by Artemis?

A: Artemis – The Art of Living began offering Waking Up to The Art of Living retreats in June 2016. We provide an oasis where mind, body and spirit unite in a unique and sacred space. Through yoga, aerial yoga, journaling, painting our masterpiece, mindfulness and healthy eating, we offer our guests an opportunity to reflect, nourish their soul and tap into their own creative expression.

Q: What types of team building experiences are offered through Artemis and what makes them distinctive?

A: We offer wellness workshops that help participants experience mindfulness, body movement and a creative outlet using music and art. This 3 1/2-hour teambuilding workshop includes stress reduction with mindfulness, breath work, guided meditation and chair yoga; an introduction to AntiGravity® aerial yoga; and an intuitive painting project.

As a certified leadership coach, yoga instructor and artist, I’m able to offer a variety of services under one roof. With my team of qualified instructors and unique location, we are able to establish an environment that supports integrating the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
