Get Social: Cocktails, Cuisines and Conversations

It’s where creative cuisine and cleverly constructed cocktails meet up in a hip downtown York location: Revival Social Club.

Whether you’re gathering with friends to share small plates or engaging in happy hour conversations with cocktails at the bar, Revival Social Club delivers that bon vivant atmosphere yet remains versatile enough to deliver a fine-dining experience.

Jessica and Rob Ayala, owners and operators, opened the North George Street restaurant in March. Their vision for Revival Social Club is reflected in every detail, from the quirky dining-inspired prints on the walls to the attentive and friendly serving staff. “Eating should be something that people love to do,” Jessica says. “We wanted to give people an experience that they could share with family and friends.”

That experience is reflected in the globally inspired dishes you’ll find represented in the seasonal menu offerings. Moroccan-spiced lamb ribs served with barley, crispy chickpeas, haricot verts and cucumber ribbons capture the flavors of North Africa. The Portobello Wellington — a vegetarian adaptation of beef Wellington — wraps a sun-dried tomato–stuffed portobello mushroom cap in a covering of crisp puff pastry.

Revival’s cocktails are an alchemy of distinctive flavorings and liqueurs. The Smokin’ Herbs melds Hendricks gin and green chartreuse with smoked honeydew and dandelion bitters. With a sip of the Sherlock & Watson, you’ll discover a lively combo of cardamom, lemon, Earl Grey elixir and Glenlivet 12 malt Scotch whisky.

Private parties — from corporate meetings to family gatherings — can find an attractive event space with a cool city vibe on the second floor. On designated Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a pop-up brunch series features a new menu of food and drink specials.

“We work to impress people the first time around,” Jessica says. “We take the time to educate our staff on the details of our menus. When you look at downtown York now, you see the want people have for a high-quality dining experience, and we want to be able to support that.
