Sharing stories through stained glass: It’s the vision behind H&L Studio’s artistry.
H&L Studio creates custom stained glass art incorporating their clients’ desires with the studio’s creativity to fashion distinctive pieces. Artist Hector Palma creates designs through custom stained glass panels, fusion glass and painted stained glass using foil, lead and fusion construction techniques.
Palma’s work in stained glass began in the late 1990s. In 2004, he opened H&L Studio in York to serve clients who commission Palma — a member of the Stained Glass Association of America — to create custom stained glass pieces for homes and businesses.
H&L Studio regularly offers stained glass workshops throughout the year, exhibits at juried art shows in the mid-Atlantic region and participates in Small Business Saturday each year.
While working with stained glass, Palma witnesses the transformation of ideas into art. “I tell stories with colors and textures of glass,” he says. “When you hold a stained glass panel up to a light source for the first time and see your completed project, that is the magic of stained glass.”
