Trendsetters on the Forefront of Flavor
Food, like fashion, has its trendsetters. Being on the forefront of flavor requires taking a bold approach to ingredients and preparation techniques. Since its opening in 2017, Revival Social Club has continually introduced its guests to innovative dishes and cocktails.
“We’ve found that we can try new things, and people trust us because of our reputation,” says Revival co-owner Jessica Ayala. “We’re always doing research to see what restaurants in other cities are doing. We’re reading magazines and finding out what’s trending and exciting but still familiar to a degree.”
Revival’s food trendsetters are a culinary team that’s not afraid to experiment in the kitchen or behind the bar. Led by Robert Ayala, chef and co-owner, the chefs and cocktail specialists are continually bouncing ideas off each other in the quest to make every dining experience here a memorable one.
Part of that experience is getting that intimate taste of freshness on the plate. Partnerships with Five Cedars Farm in Hampstead, Maryland, and York Fresh Food Farms offer opportunities to incorporate as much locally grown produce as possible into the globally inspired dishes that become part of Revival’s seasonal menus.
On the cocktail side, Revival continues to stay ahead of the curve. “We do a lot of Tiki-style cocktails that are trending now. They’re fruity, fresh and bright,” she adds. Paired with desserts like peach cobbler and blue-cheese ice cream, these cocktails make any occasion special.
“When you develop a restaurant concept, you think you know what it’s going to be. But it’s not just about what you decide; it’s what others see in you as well,” Jessica says. “Downtown York’s food community still has opportunities for people to fill niches. They all help to build community and expose people to new ideas.”
