Thank You York County: Hayman Studio

For 70 years, Hayman Studio has witnessed York County’s changing landscape as three generations of Haymans have captured the products and stories made right here.

They are the stories of both unique businesses that make products and deliver services to our neighbors, and the stories of industrial giants that manufacture products for the world.

It has been 70 years of photographing and filming products and processes that make every day at Hayman Studio feel like the sets of How It’s Made and Dirty Jobs.mFrom chips featured on Utz bags, VOITH’s massive turbines at dams across the US, videos demonstrating Dentsply Sirona’s latest technology, to the design and implementation of OSS Health’s Annual Report, the work has been a mix of iconic and unique York brands.

President Ryan Hayman reflects on his business, “We are most thankful for York. We take pride in our work because it’s about the success of our customers, the people who lead the businesses all around us. That’s who we are, York Countians.”

Retired President Jim Hayman says, “It’s the American dream, really.” A dream that began in his father’s parents’ basement grew to fill the 6,000-square-foot North York studio that founder Jim Hayman Jr. purchased in 1965. It’s three generations of Hayman photographers, each one teaching the next their technical skills, their easygoing nature, an attention to quality and detail, and a love for the booming success for their hometown.

Each generation has also mastered new skills and grown the business to include new services. In 2020, Hayman Studio is a powerhouse of photography, videography, and design.

Of this, all the Haymans can say is, “Thank you, York County, for 70 years, three generations, and counting.”

YRK PERSPECTIVES:

How has the York community supported the growth of your small business?
“Thanks to the needs of our amazing clients, we’ve expanded our services far beyond photography. The York County business community has spurred our growth to include photography, videography, and design. ”
