Steam Into a Season of Imagination
Explore southern York County along the Northern Central Railway with Steam Into History. Where else can you witness an 1860s-era, historically accurate operating steam locomotive? Journey along the same route President Abraham Lincoln traveled on his way to deliver the Gettysburg Address in 1863, the same route that parallels the award-winning York County Heritage Rail Trail.
While interpreting York County’s role in American history is central to its mission, Steam Into History creates experiences that visitors of all ages will remember for a long time. Sharon Dorn, CEO of Steam Into History, credits programming such as the Steam Into Summer program for children — funded by the White Rose Foundation of the York County Community Foundation — for providing opportunities for guests of all ages to connect the present with the past, York County with York City and education with entertainment.
