“We go the distance with our students. We’ll throw the whole wellness kitchen sink at it. I’ve personally watched people go from struggle to ease quickly at the house. It’s pretty awesome to see. All of the change that happens is directly related because of the commitment of our team and our students who drop into good space together and grow.”

Yogis can get their yoga fix at plenty of studios — yet there’s something inimitable about House of Yoga.

With teachers trained in specialties and healing modalities ranging from trauma to Ayurveda, reiki to massage therapy, the studio offers much more than the physical asana practice only. “Our teachers are looking not just at what’s out of alignment physically, but what’s out of alignment spiritually and energetically,” owner Jackie Dahlheimer explains.

The teachers at House of Yoga teach not only from knowledge of the physical practice — from muscles and bones — but also from heart, from spirit, and from love. They teach from a deep passion for service to their community. They teach for the students — both beginners and longtime members.

House of Yoga and the teachers are doing everything they can to assure all students that walk through their doors are safe during these times.

To be sure of a six-foot distance between students, all class sizes are limited to eight people per class. Masks are being worn by students and teachers when not on a mat, and online preregistration via Mindbody is required. Their priority, as always, is to provide safety, comfort, and a yoga experience unlike anywhere else.

YRK Perspectives:

How has the York community supported the growth of your small business?
“We are a donation based, community supported yoga studio. We are all in it together at HOY. The York Community continues to support the growth our business by showing up and donating to classes. What each student gives makes a difference for all of us at House of Yoga.”
