DISH THIS! Dynamite New Menu Debuts

He’s spent more than six months tasting, tweaking and tasting some more. White Rose Bar & Grill Executive Chef Shawn Conway doesn’t settle for mediocrity with food: The new White Rose menu he’s worked to develop is no exception.

A sampling of the new menu reveals specialties such as a Pepper-Dusted Ahi Tuna with Yuzu Glaze and Wasabi Mayo appetizer and White Rose’s take on classic salads such as Cobb and California Wedge. A dedicated section focusing on burgers and chicken introduces bold combos of tastes and textures, such as the Red Wine Mushroom Burger with Provolone and the California Chicken with Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato and Cilantro Mayonnaise.

“Chef’s Select Cuts” puts the power of personalization on your plate. You pick the meat, such as an 8-ounce filet mignon or an 8-ounce mahi mahi, and choose the preparation: blackened, grilled or pan seared. Make your topping selections of sautéed mushrooms or onions, or accent your entrée with herb-garlic compound butter, blue cheese, red wine demi glace or barbecue sauce.

After an overwhelmingly positive response to the introduction of specials earlier this year, White Rose’s new menu features some most-requested customer favorites along with new dishes such as the Pan-Seared Salmon with Sautéed Spinach, Tomatoes, Artichokes and Feta in a White Wine, Garlic and Herb Butter Sauce.

“The challenge with this menu was to keep the identity of White Rose in place but give the food a new feel,” Conway says. “We wanted a ‘wow factor’ for longtime and new customers.” He credits White Rose Bar & Grill Owner Tom Sibol and Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner Jeremiah Anderson for giving him the encouragement to meld, mold and shape the menu selections.

“It’s Tom’s forward thinking and Jeremiah’s support for bringing me on board that have allowed this menu to reflect what White Rose is now, and we don’t want to rest on our laurels,” he adds. “We’re going to keep continuing to create cool dishes. There’s always room for something new.”
