Mentor, parent, community volunteer, professor, mortgage industry leader. Dr. Teresa Gregory serves many individuals in many ways, but if there’s one role she cherishes the most, it’s being a lifelong learner.
As managing director of mortgage services for York Traditions Bank, Gregory gets the privilege of learning about and helping people achieve their home ownership goals. Her vision of fostering a relationship-oriented approach to mortgage lending has become a cornerstone of the Bank’s Mortgage Services legacy for customers throughout York County. Today, Gregory and her team of 22 Mortgage Associates carry this cornerstone value forward to serve the greater Central Pennsylvania community with Traditions Mortgage, a division of York Traditions Bank.
“With our new division name — Traditions Mortgage — we’re showing our neighbors the true commitment York Traditions Bank has to this industry,” she says. “We’re educators and counselors who believe in offering residential mortgage products and programs suited to the needs of each individual. We want to share what we know to help our customers make the best decisions. We never want to lose sight of the fact that people are behind each loan we make.”
Knowledge is the key to opening doors to new home purchases. It’s also been Gregory’s sustaining motivation. In 2013, she decided to pursue a goal of earning her doctorate degree. While juggling a career, family commitments and community service to organizations such as the York Builders Association, she applied herself to her studies and attained the title of Doctor of Business Administration in December 2016.
“I enjoy the personal commitment to continuous improvement,” she says, “and York Traditions Bank has a culture of developing others. Growth and development of people is one of our Core Values.”
From first-time homebuyers to couples and families seeking new home purchases, Gregory challenges people to realize possibilities by stepping outside their comfort zones. “Ask yourself, ‘Why not?’ When you set a goal and complete it, you’re motivated to keep going until you cross that finish line.”
