Beauty in Life and Living Spaces
Growing up in Adams County, Pennsylvania, as the daughter of a cabinet maker, Sarah Neiman witnessed the creativity and craftsmanship that transforms individual materials into completed pieces with personality and style all their own. Influenced by this upbringing, she shaped her passion for decorating and design — her creative outlets — into a small business.
Motivated by a desire to inspire others through interior design, Neiman has opened the doors of her new home décor and accessories boutique, Gray Apple Market.
Housed inside a rehabilitated 1800s ice house along the Susquehanna Trail, Gray Apple Market offers items featuring a blend of boho, farmhouse and vintage styles. Upon entering the market, inspiration for the home adorns every wall, shelf and surface. As a supporter of York County small businesses, she worked with a cadre of creative local artists to bring fresh, handmade home décor items to her space.
“Opening the doors to Gray Apple Market this spring means offering a fresh, new place to shop in York County that I hope also serves as a place for people to connect,” she says.
Beyond the market, Neiman also collaborates with homeowners to infuse beauty and style into their living spaces through her interior design division, Gray Apple Design. “I have my own personal style, but I love working with clients to find a style for their home that is a reflection of them,” she says, emphasizing that she considers both budget and lifestyle when working with clients. “Although I’m schooled in the principles of interior design, I believe in breaking the rules of conformity. If it makes you happy, there’s a place for it.”
Neiman acknowledges the support of friends and family who have made this creative ambition possible. Through her small business, she says, she hopes to make a big impact on the way people experience beauty in life through their living spaces.
