A Trattoria Tradition of Casual Italian Classics

Wood-fired pizza. Carafes of wine. Aviano’s Corner Trattoria is a mixture of old and new traditions in Royal Square. Owned by Toni Calderone and Allison Witherow, Aviano’s offers casual Italian eats in a fun, comfortable Italian trattoria setting with a vibe distinct from Tutoni’s on North George Street.

A great place for family dining and weeknight dates, Aviano’s aims to be approachable and relaxing. With favorites ranging from alfredo pasta to cups of espresso, Aviano’s reflects a soft spot in the Calderone family’s heart. The restaurant is named after Toni and Tony Calderone’s son Aviano, who is considered a fourth-generation Italian restaurateur.

Representing ONE Hospitality Group — which manages Aviano’s, The Cantina, and Tutoni’s — Allison describes one of the most exciting elements of the restaurant: “We will have a wood-fired pizza oven in the center of the dining area where folks can sit and watch the pizza being made. The pizza element is a callback to Tony and Toni’s families who together opened the first pizzeria in York.”
